Dr. Karpenko graduated with a medical degree in Russia and completed a residency there in obstetrics and gynecology. She did extensive research in the field of female infertility and worked with the team of pioneers for tubal reconstructive surgery in Russia. Her teaching experience in Russia included her role as Assistant Clinical Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she taught medical students and midwifes.
In United States she also gained experience as a clinical manager and IVF coordinator for an IVF Program in New York City, before completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Methodist Hospital. She was named among the nation’s best teaching residents in Obstetrical and Gynecological Survey. Dr. Karpenko’s research paper in Thrombophilia and Assisted Reproductive Technologies won an award from New York Obstetrical Society in 2006.
Galina Karpenko, MD joined American Fertility Services in 2006 as Medical Director of the Egg Donation Program where she successfully treated thousands of infertility and gynecologic patients.
Dr. Karpenko is a Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and a member of American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), American Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (ASLS) and American Medical Association (AMA).
